Dr. Martin Kaplan completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts and his D.M.D. degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. After earning his D.M.D. degree, he completed a Pediatric Dentistry residency program at Montefiore Hospital in New York. He has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 1977, and laser-assisted pediatric and neonatal dentistry since 2002. He is one of only a select few pediatric dentists in the world that has achieved Fellowship in the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the first pediatric dentist in the world to achieve Diplomate Status with the American Board of Laser Surgery (ABLS). Dr. Kaplan currently serves as Director of Dental Laser Surgery of the ABLS. He also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Tufts University’s School of Dental Medicine in the Post-Graduate Pediatric Dental and Orthodontic Departments.
Dr. Robert Convissar is a pioneer in the field of laser dentistry. One of the first dentists to use lasers in dentistry, he has over 3 decades of experience with CO2, Diode, Erbium, and Nd.YAG wavelengths. The author of over fifteen peer-reviewed papers on lasers and 6 laser dentistry textbooks, he is the most widely published general dentist in the field of laser dentistry in the world. His text "Principles and Practice of Laser Dentistry" (now in its 2nd edition) has been the number one selling laser dentistry textbook in the world since its publication. An internationally acclaimed lecturer from New York to London to Florence to Sydney to Beijing to Hong Kong to Dubai, and everywhere in between, Dr. Convissar has delivered over 300 Laser Dentistry Certification courses worldwide. He is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, the International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals, and many other prestigious organizations.
